Bio

More than 25 years of professional experience as an economist, working with the public and private sector in different developing countries. Consultant and staff member with several international organizations: World Bank, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA), Organization of American States (OAS), and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Advisor to Ministers and senior public officials in different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean on macroeconomic and trade policies and project financing in the agricultural sector. Diplomatic and negotiating experience on agricultural trade issues in bilateral (USA, Canada, Brazil), regional (MERCOSUR, NAFTA), and multilateral negotiations (Uruguay Round negotiations and World Trade Organization). Expertise in quantitative techniques of economic and project analysis, including computable general equilibrium and macro-econometric models.
