Simon Evenett

Bio

Simon Evenett’s research has focused on empirical studies of international trade flows as well as on international trade and competition policy. He is the co-author or co-editor of four books, including Local Dynamics in an Era of Globalisation (Oxford), Antitrust Goes Global (Brookings), Facets of Globalisation (World Bank), and Can East Asia Compete? (forthcoming from Oxford.) His research has also been published in a variety of academic journals and edited volumes.

Dr. Evenett obtained his PhD in Economics from Yale University in 1995. He has taught at the University of Michigan Business School and at Rutgers University. In addition, he has held a variety of different fellowships from the Brookings Institution since 1994 and is the Moderator of the Brookings-George Washington Roundtable on Trade and Investment Policy; an off-the-record forum for discussing international trade policy questions in Washington, D.C. Currently, Dr. Evenett is the Director, Economic Research, World Trade Institute, in Bern, Switzerland.
