Ernesto López-Córdova
Bio
Ernesto López-Córdova is an Economist with the
Integration, Trade and Hemispheric Issues Division at the Inter-American
Development Bank, in Washington D.C. His fields of expertise include
international trade and macroeconomics. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the
University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Masters in City Planning and a
Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Prior to joining the IDB he worked at the NAFTA negotiation office in Mexico’s
former Ministry of Trade and Industry, and taught at ITAM (Mexico City) and UC
Berkeley. Recent publications include "Exchange-Rate Regimes and International
Trade: Evidence from the Classical Gold Standard Era" (co-authored, forthcoming
AER) and "Las negociaciones de acceso a los mercados en los tratados de libre
comercio de Mexico con Bolivia y Costa Rica" (IDB publication).
