Project
Title: "Regionalism and the New IPE: The emergent relationship between States
and Markets in South America" Funded by the Canadian International Development
Agency (CIDA) Analysis
of the recent evolution of trade liberalization and regional integration
initiatives in South America using the main theoretical approaches advanced
within the IR discipline Emphasis will be made on the critical theoretical
approach adopted by the so-called New International Political Economy in the
evaluation of the relationship between states and markets, and how this
entanglement may be conditioning the evolution and the adoption of
foreign-policy decisions of key Latin American states in response to the
challenges and constraints imposed to them by the processes of regionalism and
economic globalization
