Marcelo Olarreaga

Bio

Marcelo Olarreaga is a senior economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. He is also a research affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London. He obtained an M.A. from the University of Sussex and a Ph.D from the University of Geneva in 1996. Before joining the World Bank, he was an economist in the Research and Analysis Division of the World Trade Organization. He is currently doing research on the political economy of trade policy, barriers to developing countries exports and the role of information and other knowledge spillovers on developing countries’ performance.
