Fernando Quevedo
Bio
Since 1992, he has been an economist at the
Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D. C., and recently became a
Senior Economist at the Integration, Trade and Hemispheric Issues Division in
the Integration and Regional Programs Department. His prior assignment at the
Inter-American Development Bank was as Country Economist for several countries
in Central America. Formerly, he had worked since 1989 as a long-term consultant
at the Macroeconomic Adjustment and Growth Division of the World Bank.
Mr. Quevedo has an M.A. in Economics from American University, Washington D.C.,
where he also completed all course work requirements for the Ph. D program. He
is currently coordinating the preparation of the Bank’s strategy for Regional
Integration and is responsible for designing and implementing the Bank’s
strategy to support MERCOSUR. Previously he was responsible for designing and
implementing the Bank’s strategy for several Central American countries, and in
such position was responsible for preparing, negotiating and executing several
investment and sectoral loans.
