José Tavares
Bio
José Tavares is currently at the Ministry of Finance
for the Government of Brazil. He is also a partner of EcoStrat, a Brazilian
consulting firm with expertise in the areas of trade, antitrust, regulatory
reform and industrial organization. He is a Ph.D. from the University of London,
a former Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Tariff Commission and the Chamber
of Foreign Trade, a consultant to the OAS Trade Unit, a member of the Latin
American Trade Network and the MERCOSUR Research Network. His previous positions
include the Inter-American Development Bank, the Economic Commission for Latin
America and the Caribbean, and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
